Actually a part of America, but much closer to Japan and very popular with Japanese tourists. If you go on a package tour definitely upgrade to a higher class hotel. The lowest (cheap) option is really low and may even smell. They do pick up and drop off at the airport. Package is about 3.5man for hotel and airfare from Tokyo for 3 nights.

Renting a car for a day which is helpful. There is a bus that goes around (a very old bus), but a car is good to visit the World's Largest K-Mart as well as some distant Mexican restaurant. They take Yen and USD everywhere and speak both English and Japanese.

There isn't too much to do other than go to the beach, drive around, and go shopping. There are some temples/ruins and a lot of American restaurants and big portions (and free refills).

Americans - buy a huge suitcase and fill it with things you can't get here!
